Ban Hao is made up of an international staff that works together with coffee farming families in Southern Laos. Each person on staff provides valuable experience and unique insight to our work. We are a small but close knit crew. Here’s a little bit about each of us:
Brian Brewer
Founder/Director
Brian is originally from Fort Worth, Texas. He and his family have lived in Southern Laos since 2014. He is the founder of Ban Hao and is in charge of the long-range planning and initiatives of the company. He also participates in the day-to-day operations at the mill, roasting coffee, and building websites which involves writing bios about himself (which he hates doing).
Bryan Almine
Farm Manager/Assistant Director
Bryan is from Butuan, Philippines. He and his family have lived in Southern Laos since 2016. Before coming to Laos, Bryan had over six years of international experience living and working in Malaysia. Bryan is in charge of the long range planning of agricultural initiatives and all of the scheduled work on the farm.
Roy Rubia
Assistant Farm Manager/Agriculture Manager
Roy is from Mindanao, Philippines. He and his wife Nina previously lived in Southern Laos and returned to join our team in 2022. Before returning to Laos, Roy had many years of experience in managing coffee projects and has a background in agriculture. Roy is in charge of agriculture projects on the farm and at the mill.
Latsamy Vongxada
Operations Manager
Latsamy and his family are from a small village just outside of Pakse. Latsamy has studied internationally in Hong Kong. Latsamy helped found Ban Hao and is in charge of many of our community initiatives, translation work, negotiating contracts and helping make sure all of our documents are in order. Latsamy also loves farm work, so many days he can be found laying concrete or building something with the other guys.
Son Jantanom
Farm/Village Initiatives Manager
Son is originally from Salavan Province, but has lived in Paksong, District since he was a boy. He is our original farm manager and helped oversee the construction of both the farm and coffee mill in the village. He and his family love being out in the community in our village.
Boun Desandlad
Farm/Village Initiatives Co-Manager
Boun is originally from Salavan Province but moved to our village when he got married. Boun joined our team in 2018 and has become a vital part connecting with people in the village and work at the farm and mill. In addition to being one of the hardest working people on the team, Boun is also one of the funniest.
